Hey,
I'm listening to the Tribalistas album. It consists of Marisa Monte, Arnaldo Antunes and Carlinhos Brown all of whom are from Brazil. I'm on a major World Music vibe at the moment. The best album I heard this year is the Festival of the Desert recorded live in the Sahara Desert in Mali. Tinariwen, Kwal, and Baba Sala really rock. Though the whole concept is laced with magic.

Didn't relly feel too well over the past two days. Too much Christmas spirit consumed I'm afraid. Oh well. D seem's to have recovered from his accident. A taxi driver knocked him off his bike near Kilmainham on Monday. I went up to his house yesterday. Old Mr. W was in fine form. As usual he was putting the World to rights, and more often than not he was right.
We watched a few video's Strumpet City the first two episodes and the last episode of Bachelors Walk essential viewing for all good Dubliners. D showed no ill effects. When the accident occoured he waited six hours in the Outpatients of James's Hospital and as no one seemed too concerned about him he lost patience and went home. Bad move I think.
I'm about to give up home on Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller or at least I might start it again. It's the first time I've ever read anything by Miller but I know him by reputation and that doesn't phase me at all. Though I must say it is very funny if not downright hilarious in places. I'll let you know how I get on.
p.s. Did any read "Football the Brazilian way of Life"? and what did you think?
Ciao
